Introduction

This frog can sometimes grow to 7 cm, quite large compared with many New South Wales frogs.

Habitat

Lesueur's Frog lives in a range of habitats including eucalypt forests, woodlands, coastal heath and nearby grassy areas.

Distribution

Lesueur's Frog is found in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.



Other behaviours and adaptations

If alarmed, Lesueur's Frogs are capable of making long leaps to reach the water.

Communication

Male Lesueur's Frogs call with a soft purring sound from beside creeks or ponds.

Breeding behaviours

Breeding male Lesueur's Frogs often change from grey to yellow and can be heard for most of the year from August through to May.
