Discover natural history and explore the AM's virtual tour on Google Arts & Culture
The Australian Museum's natural history collection is now accessible to people around the world through the new online platform, Google Arts & Culture: Natural History.
Combining Google Street View 360-degree images, photographs and audio tours, virtual visitors to the platform will be able to explore the AM collections and specimens in incredible detail.
Google have also launched a new virtual reality education tool: Expeditions.
Teachers using Expeditions will take students through the Wild Planet gallery, or on a behind-the-scenes tour of the AM's megafauna fossil collection to Australia’s largest Ichthyology collection, all without leaving the classroom. Viewers using Google Cardboard and the Expeditions mobile App will also be among the first to view AM’s taxidermy lab – a world first.
