Fiona has worked in the education team since 2016 and enjoys finding new ways to meaningfully engage our youngest audiences within the Museum’s innovative learning environments like exhibitions. She is interested in what young people think, thinks the voice of the child should assist in informing what we do, and believes Museum learning offers a unique and rewarding experience. Prior to the Museum’s renovations Fiona coordinated the Museum’s early learning space, Kidspace, and she is currently devising a variety of programs, experiences, and digital resources for schools and young audiences.

Fiona has worked in Museums for a number of years in education, programming, event curation, digital learning and audience development. She has previously held roles at Sydney Living Museums, the British Museum, and the Horniman Museum, and has also worked as a primary school teacher in Sydney and as an early years teacher in the UK. Her academic background includes qualifications in Anthropology, Primary School Teaching, and Contemporary Music.

Fiona loves Museums and Galleries and is passionate about the role the Australian Museum has in offering students and the public a fresh opportunity to connect with and re-think culture and history, and to investigate living and extinct animals in a new light.
