Research project: Cretaceous-Cenozoic climate and extinction events
- Start date:
This project monitors the scientific literature to explain geological outcomes since the Cretaceous-Cenozoic mass extinction event. It has resulted in keynote publications in international journals, such as Earth Science Reviews, Presidential Addresses to the Royal Society of New South Wales and invited reviews, as in the Geoscience Australia Impact issue. It provides inputs into exhibits and articles, such as the Australian Museum Dinosaurs Gallery and Explore magazine.
These climate and extinction issues continue in ongoing debates relevant to understanding causes of climate change in the modern era.
