Identification

The cuttlebone is elongate oval, about twice as long as broad. There is a long, pointed spine present, and v-shaped striations.

Habitat

Sepia opipara has a known depth range from 83 to 184 metres.

Distribution

The Magnificent Cuttlefish is found in Southern Indo-Pacific waters; from Shark Bay, Western Australia around to southern Queensland.
