Image: Stone blade knife
Blade knife used by Homo sapiens in Europe, West Africa and Africa between 35,000 - 10,000 years ago. Blade knives were the most characteristic stone tools of the late Palaeolithic and were used for cutting. They are at least twice as long as they are wide, with straight, parallel sides. They are often a starting points for crafting microlithic flakes used in composite tools and for other specialised functions.
