False Stonefish at Lord Howe Island

Christine reported that she found the fish "in a hole on the Island wall – as far as the fish was concerned he was totally invisible. He did not budge while I took my time to take about 8 photos. He was about 30 cm in length."

Thank you to scorpionfish expert and Australian Museum Research Associate Dr Hiroyuki Motomura for identifying this unusually 'hairy' fish.
