Emu egg E085855

A carved emu egg featuring an echidna and a goanna motif. The design depicts "tunjilii", or the echidna going to hunt for ants. All dots represent ants and the lines represent the sandhills with mallee trees and porcupine grass. Made by Badger Bates at Broken Hill, NSW, and acquired by the museum in 1990.
