Egg-blowing equipment

Some of the equipment used in the past to collect eggs. A drill (top right corner in tin) was used to drill a single hole in the egg. The contents were extracted using the curved egg blower (bottom right) to puff air in and gently force out the albumen and yolk. Calipers (bottom far right) were used to measure egg width and length. Very small and fragile eggs were handled using the forceps (between calipers and egg-blowers). Information about the egg was recorded on data cards (underneath eggs in box).
