Image: Consolidating fragile paint
Sheldon uses an adhesive call JunFunori, made from refined sea weed, to carefully stick the very fragile paint layers back down onto the bark cloth. The paint layer is gently tested with a soft brush and any loose areas are consolidated down with the adhesive. By securing the paint layers the mask is is a better condition to be handled and put on display.
