Chinese necklace - 1968

My significant cultural object is a Good Luck Necklace, 1968, made out of a carved elephant tusk with a silver trimming connected to a red thread, which is a lucky colour in Chinese culture.
There is a ball made of jade knotted to the thread and a small thin gold plaque with patterns with four Chinese words meaning wealthy, long life.
It is special to our family because my great-grandmother gave it to my mum when she was born and it was a gift saying “live long and have a good life.”
