Celebrate with us on March 22 World Water Day.
Every year World Water Day highlights a particular topic to do with freshwater. It focuses attention on the importance of freshwater and how we mange it.
The international day came about in 1992 at a United Nations conference on the environment and development (UNED). World Water Day kicked off on March 22 1993. Each year it has a particular focus:
• 2015 Water and Sustainable development
• 2016 Water and Jobs
• 2017 Waste water
• 2018 Nature-based solutions for water
There are some wonderful resources from the Museum available to help you take action on world water day. Try a video conference, Museum in a box or monitor your local waterway with your local Streamwatch group.
