Adults and children will enjoy using real tools and natural materials to sculpt their own Ice Age animal!

Ages: Recommended 7+

Get inspired, by the traditional and powerfully simple carvings of Ice Age animals made by Palaeolithic man from the exhibition, 'Mammoths: Giants of the Ice Age', and carve your own soapstone mammoth, dire wolf or cave bear using sandpaper and water. Adults will also enjoy this activity!

Note: This activity can take about an hour. Participants are given box kit with all equipment needed, so can be completed at home if unable to finish at the museum.

Accompanying adults are required to supervise and assist children in this space.

Members & children under 16 years have FREE General Admission to Museum, however accompanying adults will need to purchase Adult General Admission $15 or Concession $8.
