Profile
Sue works for the Australian Museum as an education and project officer. She currently works in Science Communication as the Bugwise for Schools officer. Bugwise for schools aims to be a dynamic teaching resource for anyone interested in Australia's terrestrial invertebrates and how they inform us about our environment. The Australian Museum's original BugWise program was designed by scientists to enable non-scientific communities to monitor and assess rehabilitated lands through the abundance and diversity of the spider and insect life. Sue has modified the original Bugwise for teachers and students to meet many of the outcomes and objectives of the science curriculum in a practical and engaging way.
Sue specialised in literacy education and has a broad background in teaching throughout all tiers of education in rural and metropolitan NSW. She has an enduring interest in the teaching of science and indigenous culture and history.
