My name is Serena Todd and I am the Executive Officer (acting) for Australian Museum Members, the Membership division of the Australian Museum. I began working at the Museum in 2002. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1996. Prior to joining the Museum, I spent 5 years in art and antique valuations with Lawson's Auctioneers, and before that I headed the Australian and International paintings department at Tim Goodman Auctioneers.
Being the Executive Officer for Australian Museum Members is a fast paced, fun, exciting and constantly evolving role and I am lucky to work with an amazing team. I produce and develop an events program for Members and the public in order to engage current members in the Museum's community, and to promote retention of Membership through fulfilling experiences and to provide activities and educational opportunities for like minded people. I enjoy getting to know all of our Members and connecting with them over events, travel or even phone/email.
Another part of Australian Museum Members is our tour program. We have offered tours to all over the world including the Antarctic, the Galapagos, Egypt and more. I have personally hosted groups on tours such as Outback New South Wales, Australian Museum's Research Station on Lizard Island and Lord Howe Island, which was an amazing experience. This year in 2010 we will be taking Members back to beautiful Lord Howe Island and next year 2011 Members can travel on an extensive cultural tour of Mexico.
Please feel free to conact me anytime, I am always happy to hear your ideas and feedback.
