Profile

As Special Projects Officer I coordinate a number of activities in the Research & Collections Division. They include:

Communication of the Museum's research and collections activities via the Science Bytes newsletter, and other avenues
Honorary Appointments
Fellowships and Awards
Quality management of Australian Museum Business Services (AMBS), which provides commercial ecology, archaeology and heritage service
Research and Collections Advisory Committee (RACAC) - secretariat support

I have been employed at the Museum since May 2006 and feel very privileged to work in such an interesting and multidimensional environment.

Background

Before joining the Museum I worked for many years in medical research at universities and research institutions − as a technical officer in my early career and later moving into administration and management. I have also worked as a business development manager for a NSW Government investment agency.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Psychology and Political Economy, from Sydney University. I am a co-author of a number of research articles published in international peer-reviewed journals.

Outside of work, my passion is music. I love writing songs, singing and playing guitar, and have a band which plays from time to time in venues around Sydney.
