Profile

Michael Harvey has worked in the science communication field for over fifteen years, primarily in museums and science centres. Early in his career, Michael worked as an Information Officer in Search & Discover here at the Australian Museum. He has also worked at Questacon as co-ordinator of the Shell Questacon Science Circus and as the manager of science programs for the British Council in Australia. Most recently, he spent six and a half years in the UK, working at the Natural History Museum, London.

At the Natural History Museum, Michael worked on the Nature Live program of scientist talks and webcasts, and carried out strategic planning and concept development for new permanent galleries at the Museum. He also worked as a distance learning tutor and occasional guest lecturer in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester. He returned to the Australian Museum after an absence of over 9 years to take up his current post in February 2009.
