Profile

Catherine is passionate about science education. She has studied science communication (majoring in communications and psychology) at the University of New South Wales and has worked in the science communication industry for over six years in the public and private sectors, nationally and internationally.

She has worked in various science communication and marketing roles including at Questacon-The National Science and Technology Centre, the Faculty of Science at the University of New South Wales, Generation Science - an outreach branch of the Edinburgh International Science Festival and Mother Nature Science in London.

Catherine's current role is the Science Communication Manager, where she helps manage events such as Science in the City and its outreach arm, Science in the Suburbs and Science in the Bush. Here she is working collaboratively with a team of people to inspire, inform and involve the general public and future generations to embrace what science has to offer – not only in terms of career options but also as life knowledge.

Many people refer to her as Aquacat as she loves water and nature. On weekends you will often find her exploring new places, playing underwater rugby, surfing or wakeboarding.
