A Cut-throat Eel at a depth of 1417 m, about 335 km west-north-west of Barrow Island, North West Shelf, Western Australia, 25 May 2010.

Thank you to Dr David Smith (USNM) for identifying the fish as a synaphobranchid, most likely Synaphobranchus. He stated that "The various species are hard to identify without having the specimen at hand (scale shape and arrangement; dorsal origin; vertebral count, etc.)".
