Discover the intricacies that lie at the junction of science and art.
A scientific marvel in the field of art? Or an artistic marvel in the field of science? Either way, mystery still surrounds these glass models of marine invertebrates made in 1880 by the famous German father and son team, Leopold and Rudolph Blaschka.
For over 150 years, artists have attempted to uncover the unique methods used to create such intricate and beautiful models. Some have succeeded but some mysteries still remain.
The Blaschkas may have taken their exclusive techniques to the grave, but they have left behind evidence of what occurs at the junction of science and art.
