Live reports from Bondi as the historic pavilion collapses during a severe storm.
Newsreader: We interrupt this coverage for some breaking news. Our reporter is on the phone from Bondi, where it appears the historic pavilion may have collapsed. David, can you confirm any of this?
David: Yes. It appears the inevitable has finally happened – the severe storms over the last week weakened not only the building’s foundations, but also parts of its structure. At the moment, it is only the front section that has collapsed, but other parts are looking a little shaky.
Newsreader: Do you know if anyone was injured?
David: It appears that no-one was inside, or nearby at the time, as the building was cordoned off yesterday in case this very thing happened.
