  • We live in Northern NSW and have found four of these spiders in our house over the past month (always after rain). The first three alive and at night on the floor in our kitchen and the last(photo) very dead in the filter of our washing machine. I am trying to identify and from photos think it is a funnel web. Not clear on the photos is the spot of colour on the front of his abdomen. On the live ones it seemed to be very pale green, almost white. On this one it is grey. Otherwise it is completely black. This specimen has lost most of his legs in the wash but I think his second is still there and cannot detect a spur. Could you please identify for me and let me know if it is a dangerous variety as I have an eighteen month old toddler and am worried about the consequences of a bite when we live far from the nearest hospital
