Comments

  • Hi, on May 29th 2011, my husband started up our tractor, unremarkable until a small black shape was catapulted out of the exhaust pipe (the pipe faces the Great Dividing Range - near Braidwood, NSW)and onto the ground. He carefully picked it up (bare hands, we hadn't read any warnings) and the tiny bat, we think it was a large-eared pied bat clung to his fingers. I placed it in a scarf (bare hands again!) and left it on a shelf in a shed to recover. Great news, next morning it had disappeared, hopefully unharmed by it's rude awakening. We were so anxious to place the bat somewhere quiet and quickly that unfortunately, no photo was taken. Any comments welcomed, thank you.
