- I was bitten by a Red back last week. It was very painful. I suffered localised burning pain and swelling at the bite site and redness that extended over time. I was a distance from medical advice and treated it ice immediately then applied Magnaplasm about 4 hours later to draw the venom. The next morning i experienced partial paralysis of the face and deafness in the same ear for a short time accompanied by a severe headache. Following this i decided to place Tiger Balm swab over the bite for the day and following night. To my amazement the following morning the redness had reduced and the burning had become less. I still had a headache and even now have the same. The symptoms have become less and the obvious bite signs are diminishing also. I am interested in the application of Tiger Balm, the fact that i was already taking antihistamines for allergies and the fact that i was bitten in a no fleshy area as factors in my recovery. I am still experiencing headache and redness and itching at the bite site and a general feeling that im not quite right but overall i feel that i have recovered very well and quicker than expected.
