• I was stung on the lttle toe of my left foot by an insect which had a black and white striped body. Location - Nari's Beach, Whitsunday Island. Very painful when stung and for the next three days had swelling and itchy hot skin over a quarter of my foot. Helped by Polaramine at night but bearable during the day. I am assuming it was a sand wasp. I didn't see any other insects on the beach at all.
