Image: Torresitrachia cuttacutta
Torresitrachia cuttacutta is the smallest of the four species of landsnails recently described by Dr Köhler and his colleagues. In general, differences in the shell are not very pronounced between these species, which can reliably only be differentiated by means of their penial anatomy. Each species exhibits a peculiar armature of the inner penial wall. The name cuttacutta refers to the locality at which this species is found, the Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Reserve in the Northern Territory.
