The painted apple moth Teia anartoides (Lymantriidae).The male (with the orange hind wings) and the flightless dumpy female next to her egg mass are figured below.
The faint pencil writing on the drawing reads:Orgyia Cuvier Latreille
The species was probably once included in Orgyia (another lymantriid genus).
