'Trawling in ice can be quite tricky. You need to make a track in the ice, do a loop and go back up the track where there is open water to lower the trawl into. In heavy ice conditions, the track closes up quickly and we cannot trawl. In thinner ice, the track stays open and it’s time to work!'
