The pavilion in the centre of the temple, which serves as the meeting pavilion of the gods (bale pasamuan), depicts events from the Adiparwa - first part of Mahabharata epic - prior to the marriage of Arjuna to Subhadra. The scenes visible here are from the Sunda-Upasunda story about the demon brothers who kill each other in a fight over a beautiful nymph. It is a story told by Bagawan Narada to the Pandawa brothers so that they never fight over their common wife.
