Ocean Puffer, Lagocephalus lagocephalus

An Ocean Puffer collected by Stan Fenton. The fish was washed up on Cobbys Corner, Lord Howe Island lagoon, New South Wales, 5 December 2012.

The species can be recognised by its countershaded colouration, dark spots near the pectoral fin base and belly, and white lower third of the pectoral fin.
