Image: Death of Abimanyu, Balinese painting E74174B
This painting (detail) with addition of gold leaf (prada) was painted by artist Pan Seken in the 1930s-1940s and has been displayed in his family temple. The artist probably showed it to his prospective customers as the best example of his work. Anthony Forge bought this painting in 1973 directly from Pan Seken, whom he considered the best Kamasan artist of this period. Size: 80 x 104cm.
