Image: Baby rattle - E081010 #2
A rattle made from 29 shells strung on plastic string. The original string, a two ply 'galawun' (ficus virens) broke, and the shells were restrung by Betty Meehan, who purcashed the work in 1986 from Ms Betty Ngurraba Ngurraba at Ngalijibama, Northern Territory. The shells were collected from debris on a beach, and had holes made for stringing the shells with the pointed end of a steel knife.
