Image: Animal figure E017383-009
A three dimensional figure of a bird, made from thirteen pieces of turtle shell, sewn together with string. Both legs are broken. There are remnants of cement present, which suggest that the figure may have been completed with feathers. Several additional pieces of turtle shell indicate that the whole sculpture may have been more complex. It was collected for the Museum by C. Hedley and A.R. McCulloch in 1907.
