An ochred, ancestral human figure, holding a palm-stick spear. It is made of plant fibre with a pith head and one turtle-shell ear. It is a miniature representation of a Dauar Island District ancestor called Bom. It is called ad giz by the Meriam people and used in ancestral rituals. It was collected by John Bruce and presented by Percy G. Black in 1908. Size 28x25cm.
