The yellow bellied sheath tailed bat is a northern Australian bat not native to Victoria, even though they have been found on occasions in Victoria. They seem to come to Victoria at the start of Autumn.
I live on the coast near Warrnambool and one season had 5 of these bats come into care.
They are also a confirmed carrier of the lyssavirus
