Includes seven plates of New Zealand birds: Pl. 57 kakapo (Strigops habrophilus); 58 kaka (Nestor hypopolius); 59 (N. esslengii, later said to be a variegated specimen of the ordinary species); 60 kea (N. notabilis); 76 takahe (Notornis mantelli - magnificent double plate, life size); 80 shoveller (Spatula variegata).
