Image: Vanuatu 1997 - Mark McGrouther at river in flood
Unfortunately, torential rain caused the rivers to rise and block the return road to Port Vila. The river in the image was a small stream when we crossed it in the morning. A long circuitous drive was required in order to return Fisheries. We took advantage of the situation however and managed to collect several small fishes beside the bank where the flow was not too strong. One step backwards and Mark would have been swimming.
