Thumb Piano E55201

This thumb piano is from Cameroon, West Africa. It is unknown which ethnic group it belongs to, but it was collected in the mid 1950s. Its elegant form is made entirely of bamboo, with eight keys resting at the top. A very small hole on the upper surface near the keys allows the sounds to resonate.
