Image: The Millipede - Robyn Cook

While raking up leaves in the garden, I noticed a millipede trying hard to escape the rake. On closer inspection, I noticed its beautiful form and colour. Using my 50 mm macro, I photographed this wonderful invertebrate, noting in particular how it would curl its way around the leaf. Lucky me! It stayed still long enough for a shot, then it crawled back into the leaf pile.
