Tabua, Fiji (E002523)

Tabua, Fiji
Acquired May 1889

The original Museum records for this object state that this tabua was worn by a chief, however tabua are typically exchanged rather than worn. They do have chiefly qualities, though, and are normally possessed by chiefs and other individuals of high status.
