Image: Suckerlip Blenny, Andamia amphibius
The Suckerlip Blenny lives high in the rocky intertidal zone where the rocks are being pounded by waves. Blennies in the genus Andamia have slender bodies, a cup-shaped, fleshy disc (labial disc) behind the lower lip and unbranched caudal (tail) fin rays. The 7cm long fish in the image was collected in the Duff Island Group, Solomon Islands.
