Soldier crab - Emily Paquette, Primary School 2007

It is really cool when all the soldier crabs start to march and that is exactly what they were doing when I took this photo. I was down at Moona-Moona Creek, Jervis Bay and they were everywhere. But they were hard to take a picture of, because when you got close they ran away and buried themselves. So I used the zoom lens on my mum’s camera and was lucky to get this little crab sitting in the sand.
