Image: Snail Parasitic Blowfly - Roz Batten
This photograph shows a snail parasitic blowfly on a branch. It was quite easy to identify as its markings are so distinctive. This fly is a nectar feeder and assists the flower plants in pollination. Their larvae are parasites of land snails.
