Smaradahana: the burning of the God of Love. Painting collected by Anthony Forge in 1979 from Tabanan District, Bali. Size 89 x 111 cm.
This painting shows a central episode from Smaradahana story in different visual and stylistic interpretation. Siwa is prominent in his angry, multi-headed form after having set fire to Smara (Kama) who is lying under the tree with his bow and arrow beside him.
