Supporter in Sydney, George Read’s daughter. We presume that this is the daughter of Dr George Read, Port Surgeon, who in 1911 lived at “Garryowen” on Fitzwilliam Road, Parsley Bay near the suspension bridge.

George Read married Rose Saywell, whose family lived at “Windermere” in The Crescent, just across Parsley Bay, in 1888. Their children were Eileen (born 1891), Cyril (1893), John (1902), Fawcett (1903) and Rose (1909).
The two in the photograph could in fact both be Read’s daughters, Eileen (aged 20) and Rose (born 1909), sitting in front of their home “Garryowen” in Fitzwilliam Road, Parsley Bay.
