Image: Periclimenes Shrimp - Neil Vincent
This image was taken on a shallow reef off Tulamben in Bali. Rather than use its own powers of locomotion, this shrimp just hitched a ride with two passing nudibranchs which were travelling nose to tail. The nudibranchs not only offered a mode of transport, they also provided cover under their 'skirts' when the shrimp felt threatened and food by way of the morsels floating in the water they were swimming through.
