Image: Olympic Gold Medal - 1912
My significant cultural object is Sarah Fanny Durack’s gold medal won in 1912 at the Stockholm Olympics. Sarah was the first Australian woman to win a gold medal and she won it for the one hundred metres freestyle race for swimming.
Sarah Fanny Durack is one of my great, great, great aunts.
