Mutsu no Kami Kaneyasu Sword

Mutsu no Kami Kaneyasu produced this sword in the Sho-ho era (1644-1648). His signature is engraved in the tang (base) of the sword blade. Kaneyasu was noted for the peculiar style in which he signed his work - the characters of his name can only be read properly in reflection.
