Museum Mummy

Bound in fragile linen wrappings and entombed in a painted, wooden coffin, the Egyptian woman's body was mummified during the Third Intermediate Period (664-525 BCE). It was excavated in 1900 in Thebes (modern day Luxor) and donated to the Museum in 1912.

The mummy is located on Level 1 of the Australian Museum.
