Image: Measuring oxygen levels for pest treatments
Heather takes a reading of the oxygen levels inside a high barrier film bag made for a large Solomon Islands bowl. The bowl is being fumigated for insect pests. The digital meter has a probe that can be inserted through a self-sealing disc and a reading is given to show the percentage of oxygen in the bag after being flushed with nitrogen. A reading of 0.1% oxygen is needed for the treatment to be effective.
